Shot by Kait Barker at Belltrees in the Upper Hunter Valley, Heath and Ebony’s nuptials were sweet and simple. Understated and intimate, the pair tied the knot ‘neath the trees, where their guests gathered on authentic church pews taken from the Belltree’s Chapel, circa 1880.

With the natural beauty of Barrington Tops ranges as backdrop, the couple kept the styling and decoration pared-back but personal. “Finding a location that reflected us was really important,” says Ebony. “Heath loves antiques and the stories behind old architecture and buildings, and I grew up on a farm so I’m a lover of Australian landscapes. When we found Belltrees, it was beyond perfect with its heritage buildings and rolling hills – it was truly magical!”

With just 16 guests, Ebony and Heath’s wedding was by no means big, but that’s just the way they wanted it. “Initially we spoke about a large wedding, but it became too overwhelming for us,” says Ebony. “I couldn’t even picture us there and felt anxious just thinking about it! As soon as we decided to semi-elope and run away with our closest of family and friends everything just fell into place.”
