Bryony & Simon’s Grounds of Alexandria Wedding
The charming unruliness of The Grounds of Alexandria made a magical backdrop to Bryony & Simon’s recent wedding. The Sydney couple, who now live in New York, only saw their venue a few days before the wedding, but were rapt with their choice. Bryony tells us “We wanted something that felt special, but also relaxed and with excellent food. The Grounds fit the bill perfectly!”
Bryony is Jewish and included some traditions in the ceremony. Simon, who’s an awesome illustrator, designed all the stationery as well as the fabric for the Chuppah (traditional Jewish wedding canopy). How rad is that! Bryony says “it was so wonderful to look up during the ceremony and see all the love that went into the fabric.”
Impossibly cute and clearly loved-up, Bryony & Simon weren’t afraid to shed a few happy tears. Having been away in New York for two years only added to the emotion of the day. They tell us “Walking into our ceremony and seeing all our closest family and friends, most of whom we hadn’t seen in a very long time, was such an overwhelming and lovely feeling. We were so lucky to have one of our best friends act as our celebrant. At one point during the ceremony, all three of us were crying!”
There were so many amazing pics for this wedding, it was pretty hard to condense them to a blog-friendly number. Beautiful work as always, by the lovely Lara Hotz (see more of Lara’s work here).
