Bianca and Dan go way back. “We caught the same bus home together after school” Dan tells us. “We didn’t know each other but I knew I wanted to get to know her!” It wasn’t until a mate’s birthday party that the two got talking and it was there that they shared their first kiss (and first underage drinks). Ten years on and these high-school sweethearts are still going strong!

They tied the knot at the Hunter Valley’s Mindaribba House and we’re loving their laid-back, boho affair. Daniel Ferris did the honours when it came to photography and made quite an impression on these newlyweds – “He was beyond incredible. His style is very candid and natural and every single photo tells a story,” Says Bianca. “He made us feel so comfortable – it felt like we were hanging out with a long lost friend for the day!”

Aside from the extensive DIY efforts with their nearest and dearest – including signage, props, decorations, stationary and floral arranging – they also created the playlist and had a mutual best friend as MC, “We wanted our wedding to be intimate and personal.” Bianca tells us. “It was a lot of work and so exhausting, but I can’t describe how amazing it was to see it all come to life that weekend!” Clearly, a whole lotta heart went into the making of their special day.

Inspired by natural textures and an abundance of colour, this DIY duo crafted the majority of the day's details, including this driftwood macramé backdrop.

As well creating their beautifully wild bouquets, the girls at The Octopus Garden crafted some stunning crowns for Bianca and her bridesmaid. This boho bride loved hers so much, she still hasn’t had the heart to part with it.

Bianca’s bestie and solo bridesmaid carried on the boho vibe in a flower crown and crochet bell-sleeve dress by Spell Designs, while Dan and the boys kept things casual in cuffed chinos, suspenders and printed shirts courtesy of General Pants.

According to Bianca, the late 19th century Mindaribba House was a clear winner - “We had visited a fair few venues, some had been really lovely, but none quite like Mindaribba.” Bianca tells us. “It was breathtaking and had everything we had been looking for. I could not wipe the smile off my face, my mum cried and we knew it was ‘the one’!”

In keeping with the laidback look and feel, Bianca and Dan had their guests kicking back picnic-style on rugs, throws and cushions in the garden. Lawn games were organised by The Vintage Way, followed by a delicious shared dinner in the reception room of Mindaribba House.

The epitome of boho-chic, Bianca had the top of her gorgeously feminine two-piece from The Babushka Ballerina cropped, and paired it with a raw-edge veil from The Ivory Lounge. A flower crown and an assortment of jewels from Samantha Wills and Tree of Life topped off this gypsy’s look.
