Getting hitched on a private country property when you don’t own said property is no mean feat, but Danni and Harley did it. The Queensland couple embarked on many a countryside road-trip, knocking on strangers’ doors, before discovering a tree lined park in Tallebudgera Valley. “It’s quite funny to look back now,” laughs Danni, “how many times we drove out in the country and asked random people to hold our wedding on their property!” A good story isn’t all they’ve got to look back on – there’s also the stunning snaps of this bride, her beau and their beautiful vintage bohemian affair, captured by Zoe Morley.

Danni and Harley became quite the DIY darlings during their one and a half year engagement, allowing them time to prep everything and save for their round-the-world honeymoon. They collected mason jars and doilies, crafted hanging candles and trawled through garage sales for bits and bobs that fit with their vintage-boho theme. This ever-resourceful pair even built their own dance-floor! “It was all so doable because we had a long engagement,” explains Danni, “I enjoyed the whole process and it was so rewarding to see it all come together in the end.”

However, it wasn’t all smooth sailing in the lead-up to the wedding – a broken zipper on Danni’s dress, a cancelled venue and a few pillows flying off the back of a ute along the highway were just a few of the curve balls thrown their way, but this couple managed to keep their cool and enjoy the (slightly bumpy) ride.

An absolute natural beauty, very little was needed when it came to dolling up Danni. She took care of her own hair and make-up and if her glowing complexion and elegant up-do aren’t proof enough, she did a darn good job. A strapless gown by Made With Love Bridal made a simple and sweet statement while a trusty pair of Kmart heels, spray-painted white, completed the look. There you have it gals – you don’t have to break the bank to be a babin’ bride.

These sweethearts sourced their vintage items through Velvet and Lace, ending up with a houseful’s worth of shabby chic furniture and props that truly set the boho tone of the night. After the ceremony, the newlyweds and their guests made their way to Teavine House, where they gathered for good times under the darkening skies and festooned fairy lights and we’d quite like to have join them for a boogie on that home-made d-floor of theirs!
