Sienna & Luke’s Art Deco Wedding

Old and grand was what Sienna and Luke were after, and they found it on Drummond St, in the cracked concrete façade and patterned tiling of Medley Hall. The Heritage listed mansion was the perfect spot for this cool couple’s Art Deco wedding, with its chandeliers and ivy entwined staircase, courtesy of Fowlers Flowers, a subtle ode to the roaring twenties without going full Gatsby.

These bespectacled love birds first crossed paths 6 years ago –Sienna was at a restaurant for a friend’s birthday when she and Luke noticed each other across the bar. Sienna left before Luke could make his move, but this bartender was a rebel-with-a-cause. He checked the nights booking sheet and tracked Sienna down. Soon after, Luke left for a year-long overseas trip, but even oceans couldn’t keep these two apart – Sienna found herself flying to Ecuador, and the rest is history.

Samantha Coles achieved the glamour of a bygone era with Sienna’s hair and makeup, a picture of elegance in her embellished ivory Gwendolynne gown. Not the type of couple to bask in the spotlight, Sienna and Luke wanted a photographer who would make them feel comfortable. Eric Ronald was the man for the job, and the three got along so well that he felt like an extra guest on the day, “Many guests commented on how lovely and unobtrusive Eric was. We are amazed at the photos we have – especially of the ceremony, I don’t even remember seeing him get close to us!

Housed in a beautiful art deco building, Church St Enoteca provided a perfect backdrop for the reception, an informal dinner party affair, followed by the newlyweds and their guests getting down on the dance-floor to some 60’s soul. If that wasn’t enough for everyone to get their groove on, the surprise Zorba, a tribute to Sienna’s father’s Greek heritage, had the whole room on its feet. Opa!
