When your parents’ place is as drop-dead gorgeous as this groom’s, deciding on a wedding venue is a piece of cake. Backing onto the Brisbane River, the West End home was the perfect location for Beth and Luke’s opulent backyard affair, beautifully captured by Heart and Colour.
“The stunning home and location didn’t need much decoration,” Beth tells me. “I knew I wanted a rustic, natural style with a hint of opulence from metallic accents and bold magenta blooms.” A brief expertly fulfilled by Brisbane florist French Flowers, much to the delight of the bride. “I cannot recommend them enough! I was floored by how well Bart brought my ideas to reality.”
Looking stunning the Mirabella gown by Collette Dinnigan, Beth incorporated her ‘something old’ with her mother-in-law’s Juliette cap veil and vintage family heirloom necklace. Her bridesmaids wore dusk-blue Carla Zampatti gowns, perfectly complementing the groom and groomsmen’s navy Rhodes & Beckett suits.
A local favourite of the couple, The Gunshop Café provided a relaxed and rustic vibe for the reception. “From the beginning, the staff were exceptional,” they say. “We received so many comments that the food was sensational and that the staff were so friendly and attentive.”
Beth raved about all her wedding vendors (particularly the “phenomenal” Bek and Phil of Heart and Colour) and advises other couples to research thoroughly and choose wisely. She says “the brilliant people involved in our day meant that we could be completely relaxed and just enjoy spending time with our loved ones.”
