Holly and Noel’s wedding was exactly as they’d dreamt it – casual, natural, and set to a stunning backdrop. South Australia’s little surfing and fishing village of Marion Bay and spectacular Innes National Park were an easy decision for the chilled pair, who tied the knot on the white sand of Dolphin Beach before celebrating with 60 guests at the Marion Bay Tavern.

The barefoot bride and her dreadlocked groom explored the rugged coastal landscape with Luke, Dave and Ninja Kev from Luke Simon Photography, clearly at ease on their happiest of days.  “Noel and I aren’t too fussed about dressing up, so our style was pretty casual,” says Holly, who even brought her Ugg boots along for the occasion. She wore her mum’s wedding dress, the timeless gown only needing its sleeves taken off to allow for warmer weather.

With jewellery from Spell & the Gypsy and a stem of orchids threaded through her hair, Holly made quite the bohemian beauty, especially under the gorgeous antique lace canopy made by her dad for the ceremony. Shells from Vanuatu, where Noel had proposed (in a candle lit hut, no less), were another special touch, along with his aunty’s hand-roasted curry spices as favours.

Noel’s sister was responsible for their wedding cake, and also for getting these two together. “She had been trying to convince me for years that her brother was perfect for me,” recalls Holly. A cheeky Valentines Day text was all it took to spark their romance, and before they knew it they were getting their dance on as man and wife (the bride with a Bombay Orchid cocktail in each hand).

“Having a wedding in a remote location and being so actively involved in the preparations upped the stress levels significantly,” Holly admits, but says she wouldn’t have changed a thing. “And now I have amazing photos as proof of how perfect it was!”
