Whatever your views on 2016, there’s no denying it was an epic year for beautiful weddings. We’ve been sharing some of our favourite moments from the year that was, but now it’s time to look back on YOUR top 10 weddings of 2016.
From budget-friendly backyard bashes to ultra luxe soirees, your top picks are definitely a mixed bag. While we’ve seen a more modern aesthetic across the board, vintage and bohemian elements remain popular amongst your most loved looks. You’ve gone wild for creative details like unique cakes and fabulous florals, but equally so for pared-back weddings and intimate elopements.

10. Jess & Ed’s boho backyard wedding
Jess & Ed’s bohemian affair made the most of Perth’s glorious sunshine, perfectly captured by photographer Sarah Jean. A backyard wedding packed with DIY details, their vision was helped along by Pretty Willow and Turtle & the Pelican on hire and styling, while Hello Love chipped in with that gorgeous macrame backdrop.

9. Kat & Graham’s Fairground Follies wedding
Kat and Graham kept their wedding location a secret, surprising guests with an epic celebration at Sydney’s carnival museum, Fairground Follies. With Lara Hotz behind the lens, this loved-up pair roamed the streets with colour smoke bombs for some spectacular snaps.

8. Chance & Jessica’s Darlington Estate wedding
Styled by Flights of Fancy with incredible blooms by Natural Art Flowers, Chance and Jessica’s Darlington Estate wedding had all the ingredients for a stunning day. The Perth pair chose Teneil Kable to capture their romantic affair.

7. Jill & Kai’s moody rainforest wedding
With ominous skies, a lush rainforest backdrop and Janneke Storm behind the lens, Jill and Kai’s Secrets on the Lake wedding was destined to be picture perfect. Both bride and groom scored high in the style stakes, earning top spots respectively in 2016’s best dresses and groom style.

6. Sarah & John’s Cupitt’s Winery wedding
An autumnal palette and hints of vintage set the tone for Sarah and John’s Cupitt’s Winery wedding. Jimmy Raper captured every gorgeous detail, from the bride’s sensational Suzanne Harward gown to the textural blooms by The Botanic Workshop.

5. Scott & Carly’s Old Forest School Wedding
It’s hard not to adore a wedding with cameos by beautiful palominos, particularly when that wedding’s been shot by Danelle Bohane. With the bride in Rue de Seine, Scott and Carly tied the knot at the charming Old Forest School in New Zealand.

4. Brittany & Bronson’s boho tipi wedding
After a cyclone destroyed their intended venue in Vanuatu, Brittany and Bronson (and a hard working team of vendors) pulled together their dream wedding in just 6 weeks. Sheraton Mirage and Tipi Luxe played host to their bohemian affair, and we’re in love with every moody frame by photographer, Briars Atlas.

3. Brett & Alexandra’s surprise backyard wedding
A faux engagement party at the family home was the perfect ploy to gather Brett and Alexandra’s nearest and dearest, before the pair revealed they’d be tying the knot that very day! With Brooke Adams on hand to capture the surprise, we reckon these stylish sweethearts pulled off the perfect impromptu wedding.

2. Amy & Nick’s Post Office Hotel wedding
Pairing a lush indoor setting with a vibrant palette of magenta, blue and copper, Amy and Nick chose Coburg music venue The Post Office Hotel for their laid back nuptials. With florals by Good Grace & Humor and an epic wedding cake by Boutique Cake Art, Long Way Home Photography captured every gorgeous detail.

1. Carolyn & Andrew’s modern dockside wedding
There was much to love about Carolyn & Andrew’s big day – Florals by Silva’s lush blooms, a babin’ bride tribe and a ton of confetti – not to mention the bride’s incredible dress by Prea James! With Willow & Co behind the lens, we’re not surprised this gorgeous day scored top spot for your most loved wedding of 2016.
