Louise & Tom’s Boho Blue Mountains Wedding

These carefree kids wedded just below the Blue Mountain’s highest peaks and have these magnificent photos to show for it, care of the equally cool couple behind James Goff Photography. They kept their boho wedding “super chill”, with quirky timber touches and hints of colour scattered through Blackheath’s picturesque Allview Escape.

Louise, a self-confessed drifter (having worked as a teacher’s assistant, tutor and even apprentice carpenter), ran into ringer Tom on a cattle station in the Kimberly. Their love has scaled the country (and many a mountain, it would seem), with Tom popping the question atop Mt Bogong. “I think all of Victoria heard my answer!” Louise tells me.

She donned a free-flowing Grace Loves Lace gown for their celebration and boldly braved the cold in ‘shoe’ anklets, also from the boho-luxe brand. “The forecast said it would be raining and windy,” she says, “but it was the most spectacular, clear, crisp winter’s day, with a stunning sky and incredible view that we could all totally enjoy and appreciate.”

Their ceremony and reception both took place on Allview’s 20-acre property, against panoramic views of the Grose Valley. “It was sort of a rustic, farmy-outdoor theme,” Louise says of their DIY wedding. “We collected old tool boxes and floats used for concreting, as well as timber and tiles from street clean-ups and recycle places for decorations.”

They also had a custom made stamp designed (making its mark on their invites) and put their skills to use on signs, menus, table placements and labels – all crafted from recycled products. And that cake can’t go without a mention, with its adorable array of flavoured cake-pops. The sheep-pops were a cheeky nod to Tom’s family, who flew in from New Zealand for the occasion.
