Georgina and Josh’s day was fun, fresh and fragrant – a candle and bloom-filled Boomerang Farm wedding, bursting with colour. And its no wonder, with the groom a painter and the bride owning her own candle company, Coco Daydream. “We knew we wanted colourful and bright,” they say. “It was very whimsical, and just us,” playfully captured by Finch & Oak.

These guys are seriously sweet and sparked a “crazy magnetic connection” the moment they met. Two years later, Georgina woke to find a red ribbon tied to her bedroom door handle. “It led into the kitchen where a sign read ‘follow the red ribbon’,” she tells me. “It then led all the way to Tallebudgera Creek, where Josh was stood surrounded by candles. He got down on one knee and asked me to marry him.” And before long, those gorgeous Woodland Press invites were in the mail.

When it came to putting together their wedding they had lots of talented friends at hand – creating everything from a delectable collection of cakes to Georgina’s gorgeous curls. Zina from Lilywillow Designs styled the day and sourced their props, making for the prettiest of picnics. “We’re big picnickers, and were 100% on having a garden party at the ceremony,” so they spread out on the lush grounds of Mudgeeraba’s Boomerang Farm.

Georgina describes her gown as a “walk-in, walk-out decision,” having already had her eye on the stunning Grace Loves Lace Emme dress. Their reception venue proved equally easy to choose. “We had spent many a date night there, and could not have thought of a more fitting place,” the pair says of bustling bar and pizzeria, Justin Lane.

And it comes as no surprise that they scattered candles… everywhere, scenting the day with a memorable aroma. “We had personalised candle favours for each guest to take home,” they tell me, “the same fragrance as our wedding day.”
