Grace & John’s Organic Wedding at Butterland
When an artist designs her wedding, naturally it’s going to be something creative and unique, and Grace and John’s Butterland wedding does not disappoint with its original styling and a gorgeous dress made by the bride herself.
Photographed by Motta Weddings, this day is a shining example of how less can often be more. Grace explains, “We wanted to keep the whole thing very natural and organic and steer clear from trends.” With this in mind, they chose a venue they loved and focused on the three F’s – family, food and flowers!
The couple felt that the venue spoke for itself, and the addition of some creative floral arrangements was all that was needed. Enter floral genius, Katie Marx. They share, “Katie’s flowers are absolutely insane; we knew she would create something amazing for us. On the day we were blown away by the way the venue and wedding looked; Katie dressed the building in foraged blooms and the bridal table had tulips with exposed roots and fresh soil… amazing!” Added to the table décor were ceramic beeswax candles made by the bride for their guests.
Grace and John found other ways to shake things up and personalise their day, including making an unconventional choice for their flower girls. Grace explains, “One of my favourite parts of our wedding was having two friends be my flower girls. I always was confused as why it’s usually only children who get this amazing role. I always wanted to be one and these two amazing women stepped it up a notch and enthusiastically threw freshly picked petals down the aisle.”
