Colourful, Unique & Inclusive Styled Shoot
Getting together before last year’s lockdown in Melbourne, Photographer Zoe Louise, Wildblooms Florist Ben and a gang of awesome vendors pulled off this colourful and creative shoot. Shot at Blondes Garage in Windsor, a blank canvas studio, before taking to Melbourne’s iconic art-lined streets, this shoot is so much fun with a beautiful, inclusive message. Zoe Louise Photography shares all the gorgeous details.
Concept
Brainchild of Zoe (Zoe Louise Photography) and Ben (Wildblooms), the concept of this styled shoot was to create an inclusive space that was fun, modern and full of bright colours. “It was exceptionally important to us to organise a styled shoot that depicted a same-sex couple and encourage that representation within the wedding industry,” shares Zoe.
Inspiration
Drawing on inspiration to have a bright coloured suit, Zoe & Ben reached out to wedding dress designer Ara Experience, who’s work would bring the entire shoot together. “We got in touch with Ara Experience to see if they had something similar, however they loved the concept and decided they would love to create a sample specific to the shoot and put it into their collection,” shares Zoe. “Once we had the fabric swatch for the suit, we used that as a building block to organise the vision and style of the shoot, pulling pink tones through the set-up, florals and a cake design. Once we started planning, it snow-balled and before we knew it, we had a massive group of amazing people wanting to get involved.”
Flowers & Cake Design
Wanting to ensure the shoot had a fun and untraditional atmosphere, it was important to Ben and Zoe that the flowers and cake broke norms and had plenty personality. “The cake (Dan’s Bake Lab) and flowers (Wildblooms) challenged what a bridal bouquet and wedding cake should look like and shows you can have something unique and fun,” Zoe shares.
Micro-Wedding Style
Taking inspiration from the micro-wedding trend, Zoe and Ben wanted to encourage couples to go their own way on their wedding day. “Since smaller micro-weddings and elopements have come into fashion as a result of COVID lockdowns, we wanted to show the audience that anything is possible,” shares Zoe. “You don’t need to break the bank and go all out on huge weddings at large venues but can still inject your own personality and style into a smaller wedding.”
