Ray Hood is a Master Hand Engraver from the UK who has been engraving for over 24 years. Ray and his wife Carly emigrated to Australia and in 2013 established London Engraver – together they have created one of the world’s finest hand engraving companies.

High quality traditional hand-push engraving is very rarely found in Australia, indeed the world – Ray is the only hand engraver in Australia to have completed an intense 6 year apprenticeship in London at Garrard & Co, the former Queen’s Crown Jewellers.

With many clients either interstate or overseas Ray & Carly are highly versed in liaising with clients from all over the world. The majority of communication is done via email but they love to meet clients in person when it’s possible.

Ray & Carly will work with you to bring your ideas to life and offer their invaluable knowledge and experience to make suggestions where needed. Ray takes immense pride creating each commission, knowing each piece will be treasured for a lifetime and handed down to future generations.

As mentioned, there are no boundaries when it comes to client reach – they go wherever FedEx delivers! London Engraver have a private studio in Adelaide CBD which operates on a ‘By Appointment’ basis.
