Robyn & Whitney’s DIY Barn Wedding at Yandina Station

With Bonnie Jenkins behind the lens, Whitney and Robyn’s Sunshine Coast wedding at Yandina Station was like something out of a fairytale, with both brides looking utterly fab against the rugged country backdrop.

Hailing from rural coastal areas, the couple found everything they wanted in the beautiful Yandina Station, a luxury property that allowed them to keep things simple whilst paying homage to the history of the station. “It was a unique combination of vintage beauty, history, incredible views and open spaces,” tells Whitney. A pretty palette of gold, neutrals and dusty rose and green shades set the tone for a laid-back affair and the pair swapped vows under Yandina’s sprawling fig tree.

Post-ceremony, guests gathered on the green for canapes and lawn games before heading into the barn for a banquet style feast (courtesy of Yandina Station) and judging by Bonnie Jenkins colourful captures, this wedding party celebrated well into the night!

Finding a venue can be a challenge, but these babes choose Yandina Estate and never looked back. “It was the first place we looked at and couldn’t go past it,” says Whitney. “Robyn’s family live nearby and we wanted it to be near where we both grew up on the coast and so our friends and family didn’t have to travel far.”

When it came to DIY, these darlings were dedicated - “Anything that could be made, we did it!” Shares Whitney. “The hessian table runners, the Etsy template wedding invitations, we upcycled and painted the rose gold glass jars on the tables, made and painted ceremony and lawn game signs, and Robyn’s mum helped us make homemade marmalade and ginger jam!”

The dress is always a fave feature of ours, and two dresses are twice as nice! Whitney wore a gorg gown by Karen Willis Holmes with rose gold kicks by Jimmy Choo, while Robyn donned a beautiful number from BellaDonna Bridal.
