If it’s go big or go home, Chloe and Jim were happy to choose the latter. Captured by Liz Jorquera, their super relaxed backyard affair is proof that a wedding doesn’t need a giant budget to be gorgeous, heartfelt and fun.

After finishing up work on the garden of their Perth home, these two decided that their own backyard was the perfect spot for to tie the knot. The couple share, “Our inspiration for the wedding was that we just wanted it to feel like a big party – as simple as possible. We wanted it to feel relaxed, where people could mingle, eat good food and drink good wine.”

Perth stylist Boho on a Budget helped out with the understated bohemian vibes, using eclectic props from Heart Strings Hire & Style. Fun lawn games kept all the little ones occupied while the grown-ups relaxed on comfy sofas and cushions. Once the sun went down, the yard lit up with festoon and fairy lights and plenty of candles.

Using their home as a venue helped make sticking to a healthy budget easy. Breaking the day down to it’s essence, they focused on what a wedding is all about. Sharing the advice, “All your guests just want to watch you get married, and eat and drink. It can be easy!”
