Perth pair, Aaron and Shannan met through a mutual friend and after months of making the weekly trip from Margaret River, Aaron made the move for good. The proposal came just after buying and renovating their first home, with Aaron popping the question while picnicking on a remote beach with Olive the puppy there to bear witness.

Both born-and-bred in small coastal towns, Shannan and Aaron wanted to pay homage to their roots and Guildford had just the small-town feel they were after. “We chose to get married at the central park in Guildford and hold the reception at the beautiful art deco Town Hall,” Shannan tells us. “To tie in with our location we tried to keep our theme pretty rustic and natural so as not to clash with what we had already fallen in love with.”

The two said I do in under a DIY arbour festooned with eucalyptus leaves with towering gum trees as a natural backdrop. With VargaMurphy behind the lens, Aaron and Shan were guaranteed stunning images to remember their day.

With her fiery hair, this babin’ bride was always going to be the centre of attention, but in a stunning art-deco beaded Rachel Gilbert gown she was nothing short of a bombshell!

Pre-written vows were banned by the groom, but this ruling resulted in some super sweet and spontaneous promises with plenty of choice swear words thrown in. “The experience of being in the moment like that was really special on a day that is traditionally so rehearsed.” Shannan says.

Adhering to the unintentional 1930’s vibe, Aaron’s cobalt, skinny lapelled Jack London suit and tapered trousers had him and his bride looking like the perfect pair.
