Cass & Marcus’ DIY Farm Wedding
Two miniature cows may not seem the obvious choice for a wedding gift, but that’s exactly what sheep farmer Marcus gave his bride Cass, setting the scene for a relaxed wedding day on the family farm at Riverina, captured by Long Way Home Photography.
With the couple living on a 64,000 acre family merino stud farm, there was no question about the venue for this wedding. “We decided that there was nothing more sentimental and special than getting married at our own home,” Cass and Marcus share.
For the ceremony they made use of the stunning private lake vista, keeping décor simple with an arbour made by Marcus himself, adorned with blooms in neutral tones with pops of deep red. Cass says the idea behind the flowers was to add some romance to the otherwise subdued palette.
After cocktails and canapés on the lawn, the party moved into the marquee decorated by friends and neighbours, using foraged foliage and flowers. Rattan place mats brought back from Bali by a friend, together with grey crockery and linen, created a textured and inviting tablescape.
The night ended with the bride surprising her groom with a fireworks display, and we think it’s safe to say that Cass and Marcus achieved their goal which was to show off their bit of the world and give their guests a great time.
