Amy & Rupert’s Chilled DIY Wedding
“We wanted a unique, relaxed and very personal affair,” say Amy and Rupert, who’s DIY wedding at Mount Pleasant was nothing short of picture perfect. No surprise really, when it was Stories by Ash taking the pictures!
With all hands on deck, Amy, Rupert and their tribe of helpers pulled together the perfect day. The ceremony took place in the quaintest little chapel you ever did see, decorated by friend and florist, Bec James of Poco Posy. A stroll down the road took the party to the local community hall; a casual location decorated with personal touches and plenty of DIY details.
A designer by trade, Amy put her creative skills to work, designing and sewing those amazing illustrated napkins, which doubled as take-home tea towel favours. Pineapple centrepieces were sourced from a local farmer and bike wheel foliage canopies were put together by Amy and family as a nod to Rupert’s passion for cycling. Oh, and a tandem bike was thrown into the mix for good measure.
Early evening food truck fare from Oi! Taco and Mr Jenkins Caravan Bar kept the vibe relaxed, and dinnertime share plates by Capelli Foods ensured no one went hungry. Photobooth and dance floor shenanigans ensued, and the pair tells us “it could not have been a more perfect evening.”
