It’s the thought that goes into a wedding that makes it really special, and Phoebe and Liam’s eco-friendly Kangaroo Valley wedding captured by All Grown Up Weddings is a classic example. With plenty of handcrafted and recycled elements, the couple created an environmentally conscious event that reflected their values and celebrated their family and friends.

Phoebe explains, “Sure, it’s your wedding but you really wouldn’t be there if it weren’t for your community. Don’t forget about them when you take four hours between the ceremony and the reception to have photos in a distant location.”

Their decision to eliminate the break between the ceremony and reception not only resulted in some gorgeous first look images, but also meant that they were able to walk the aisle together. Beneath an arbor decorated with handmade paper flowers, the couple exchanged vows with a good dose of humour, including Liam throwing in an admission he’d broken the vacuum cleaner several years ago!

As for sticking to their wedding budget, the couple say, “There may have been moments when we got wrapped up in the extravagance that is wedding planning and had to be brought back to earth – no you don’t need a jumping castle with ball pit. Sure some of that stuff would be nice but you have to get the basics like food and pants out of the way first.”

Phoebe looked oh-so sweet in a sweetheart neckline gown by Paddington Weddings, while her bridesmaids rocked their mixed-print Modcloth frocks.

This environmentally conscious couple sourced crockery and glassware from second hand shops and used vintage cups to create potted succulent favours for their guests which doubled as placeholders.

A four layer cheese tower from Robertson Cheese Factory went down a treat with all. Phoebe tells us, “We ate ALL OF IT. Delicious. You can never have too much cheese.” We agree!

In keeping with the quaintness of the community hall, decorations were simple and sweet - long tables and crossback chairs from Shoalhaven Party Hire, jars of flowers featuring native blooms by Alison Kennon, and branches decorated with fairylights suspended from the ceiling.
