A sunny garden party, French farmhouse-style feast and pumping dance floor – that’s how you put on a great wedding! Ash and Kim’s day, held at the historic Ewingsdale Hall, was captured in all its glory by the talented Shane Shepherd.
This couple’s love story began 7 years ago when Kim serenaded Ash with a ukulele while they were studying medicine together. Two medical degrees and one beautiful daughter later, Kim proposed spontaneously on a beach using a ring he’d fashioned from a shell.
Ash and Kim had no desire for wedding planning to take over their lives so decided to enlist the help of Rachael from Peachey Pie – a decision they didn’t regret. Ash says, “Rachael was the glue that kept the whole thing together. She paid attention to the smaller details on the day so that we didn’t have to. We were able to arrive at the party, enjoy ourselves, and then smoke bomb!”
The reception was styled with a mix of hired pieces from The One Day House and items the couple found in op-shops or borrowed from family and friends. Garden style floral arrangements by The French Petal complemented the setting and added a splash of colour.
Music was a big focus with guitar-wielding celebrant Ben Carlyle (who learnt a mariachi tune just for the occasion!), folk music duo throughout the afternoon, and finally Miss Renee Simone and her 6 piece soul band. And, with a Macedonian bride, the night couldn’t end without some serious moves getting cut on the dance floor!
