Let’s face it, it’s not easy to be truly unique when it comes to styling your wedding. If you look hard enough just about everything has been done by someone somewhere. But Steph and Tom’s festival celebration captured by Jenna Fahey-White is as unique a wedding as any we’ve seen.

Steph says the inspiration for their wedding was love, art music and community – things very dear to them both. “Tom, myself and a large circle of our friends have been to some very beautiful festivals around the world and what better way to celebrate our marriage than to create something that embodies that culture. We are so blessed to have such incredibly talented, creative and resourceful friends who were able to help us to turn it into the festival wedding we had envisioned.”

After much searching they found the perfect venue for their shindig – Sokil Arts Eco Retreat in Victoria’s Otway Ranges. Steph recalls, “Once we checked it out we instantly fell in love with its charm and gorgeous surrounds. It was perfect!”

A series of art installations decorated the site. “Our friend Chia Haldane is incredibly talented and wanted to experiment with her art,” Steph tells us. “She sourced materials from sustainable sources and upcycled old parts of furniture and all sorts of bits and pieces to paint and recreate.” The end result was a distinctive aesthetic representative of the couple’s personal style.

Steph’s advice to couples planning their wedding is simple: “Take the time to honour each other and really remind yourselves how much you respect and love each other every day. Wedding planning can be stressful but it doesn’t have to be when you show compassion and understanding through the crazy whirlwind in the lead up to your big day!”
