Deniz and Lauryn’s Fitzroy Gardens wedding was a relaxed and colourful affair, with an abundance of handmade and personal details. Their day was beautifully captured by Brown Paper Parcel, who carried the colourful theme through to their portraits, using a huge street art mural as a backdrop.
“We didn’t really start out with a specific theme in mind,” says Lauryn, “we just knew that we wanted lots of colour and nothing too boring or traditional.” The pair spent many hours crafting colouful origami gems to hang above the Persian rug aisle.
Colourful blooms peppered the day, but the real floral hero was Lauryn’s incredible king protea bouquet by I found an eco-friendly florist in Thornbury called Lord Butler. Lauryn tells me “finding a florist that used seasonal blooms and eco friendly elements was important to Deniz and I, and the flowers were gorgeous.” So too were the gumtree branches that hung from the altar, built by the handy groom.
