Nature-lovers, Tim and Avalon (and their super-cute bub, Vegas), chose a ‘forest meets the sea’ theme for their wedding. Their ceremony at Echo Beach had a special significance, as this was the spot they had their first date and then years later, where little Vegas had his first dip in the sea. They wrote their own vows which they shared aloud with their guests, and also quietly shared a private vow, which only they could hear.

The rainforest reception was held at their local community hall in Main Arm. It was a relaxed affair, with a self-serve bar and a sit-where-you-like policy, with a big bonfire to mingle around. Avalon was breastfeeding at the time and admits it was a little tricky to organise “I had to race out and make sure he was happy – I think this was the most difficult element of the whole day. It was so great having him with us though and we had a lot of help from friends and family.”

Avalon wore a Jayson Brunsdon silk slip dress, paired with barefoot sandals for the ceremony. For the reception, she changed into her white lace party frock, which she found at the local Burleigh Heads markets. She had 10 (yes, 10!) bridesmaids, who wore their own dresses, with a little direction from Avalon; “the only rules were a floral dress with bare feet and nude nails. My gift to them all on the day were matching pairs of barefoot sandals.”

Tim and Avalon’s stunning day was captured by the lovely Beck Rocchi, who’s praises are sung loud and clear by Avalon. “Beck was AMAZING! We felt totally relaxed with her. She was was fun and cruisy which suited us perfectly. We wanted natural images that captured the day and she pulled that off with ease!”
