Hayley & Joseph’s Fraser’s Restaurant Wedding
With over 200 guests, these foodies felt a little limited when hunting for a venue, but were determined not to settle for a “windowless room” in the city. Instead they chose magnificent panoramic views from Perth’s prettiest peak – a King’s Park Botanic Gardens and Fraser’s Restaurant wedding – overlooking the Swan River.
Hayley chose soft, neutral tones when styling the bridal party, allowing their location’s beautiful surrounds to ‘do the talking’. “We wanted an elegant, timeless style that wasn’t too polished,” she tells me, describing their theme as bush-boho with a touch of old-school tradition. And it just doesn’t get more old-school than that vintage Holden FX, restored from the ground up by dad.
The bride added the boho, designing a dreamy tulle dress and headpiece adorned with delicate, embroidered flowers – an ethereal ensemble brought to life by Elvi Design. And didn’t her bridesmaids get lucky with those stunning, sage-green gowns, created by a local dressmaker. Poppy’s Flowers “completely got the look” by blending blush shades with Australian natives, and fashioning a flower crown for the bride’s sneaky costume change. Earthy tones also filled the air, with tunes from local folk band, the Big Old Bears.
Anna Rose Photography captured the day in their candid, whimsical way, following the pair and their party from garden ceremony at Mount Eliza House to Fraser’s for a scrummy three-course feed. Hayley and Joseph kicked off the celebrations by cutting their ‘cheese cake’ – a tasty tower of international cheese wheels sourced and stacked by the couple. Perhaps a nod to the groom’s Italian heritage? And it wasn’t the only one – traditional tunes filled the dance floor, and each guest was gifted a cheeky bottle of Capri’s Limoncello.
