Lulu and Harry roamed the dunes of the White Sands National Monument in New Mexico with Jai and Leelou, the Melbourne-based creatives behind Free the Bird, for this windswept, intensely romantic engagement shoot.
The adventurous couple got their nomad on – Harry donning silver and turquoise jewels and Lulu barefoot in two of her favourite frocks. No strangers to style, the pair met while working in a Chicago shoe boutique (later learning their sneaky manager hired Lulu ‘for’ Harry, guessing they’d be a good match) and now live in Tucson, Arizona with Bruce the dog.
Harry tattoos full-time while Lulu works at the vintage shop next-door, designing and sewing clothes in every spare minute. In fact, the day after this shoot was spent snapping Lulu’s new line Shop Kuzu – and why not lap up even more of this stunning location?
Free the Bird will also be capturing their wedding in Chicago, joining a talent pool of Lulu and Harry’s creative pals. With catering by their friend Jason Vincent (the former executive chef at Nightwood restaurant) and music care of Harry’s cousin, Eli (Eli “Paperboy” Reed) and good buddies in Animal City, it promises to be one heck of a party – rounded off with a late-night bonfire, naturally.
