After travelling the world together, Chanelle and Andy chose their home city of Fremantle to tie the knot. Captured by Alexandra Cohen, their relaxed and effortless wedding was a chance to catch up with family from far and wide, and share their excitement concerning a little surprise bump!

The celebration kicked off with drinks on the deck at Kidogo Arthouse, with a champagne tower from Euphoric Events. Chanelle shares, “We wanted people to enjoy themselves overlooking Bathers beach, having a drink and watching us make our vows.” The stunning backdrop meant the couple could keep their décor pared back, with a simple timber arbour and pampas grass. So that their English staffy, Betty, could be part of the day, their neighbour brought him along to the ceremony to fulfil her role as ring bearer. “It was touch and go in case Betty decided to chase the seagulls on the beach instead, but thankfully she ran straight to Andy.”

With luck on their side, the couple were able to nab one of the last available summer dates at the character-filled Distribution Lane, where they partied the night away. Wanting a stand-up cocktail-style reception where everyone could mingle, the couple opted for local Fremantle food truck Comida do Sul, who served up modern Brazilian street eats. “Dany and Joel are incredible. We were lucky to be the first couple to have a taste test at their Fremantle premises with Andy’s parents. From there we specialised a menu to suit our taste. It was a special experience for all parties involved.”

Channelle had her two sisters as bridesmaids, and her brother as her ‘bromaid’. The girls’ dresses were purchased from Coco & Lola and accessorised with bespoke necklaces with the bridesmaids' and bride's initials created by Lisa Stotts.

Chanelle bought her gorgeous Rue de Siene Avril gown from Through the White Door in Fremantle. “We hadn’t planned on being pregnant for the wedding and the dress was ordered before we fell. It was touch and go with alterations but Faith Anderson weaved her magic.”

Andy wore a Calvin Klein suit jacket, with a linen shirt and slacks from Trenery. To differentiate, the groomsmen (and bromaid) wore suspenders, while keeping their shirts, shoes and pants the same. Matching TruWood watches were gifted to the boys on the day.

Talented florists Moss & Fern created wild and natural blooms in muted tones, perfect for a coastal wedding and much to the bride’s delight. “These ladies were such a pleasure to work with. They were given limited colour and flower inspiration and came up with the stunning bouquets, corsages and gorgeous flower crowns for the flower girls.”

Channelle and Andy were drawn to fellow traveller Alexandra Cohen’s effortless photography and free-spirited style. “Her work speaks for itself. She was an easy pick for us,” the couple share.
