Of all our brides, Eliesha took the old ‘something blue’ thing the most seriously. “Walking down the aisle was a pretty amazing moment,” she tells us, “everyone let out a gasp, I think most people were still expecting white.” We were left gasping too when we saw that incredible blue embellished Alex Perry gown. With Raj in his complementary blue-hued Politix get-up, we’re losing our minds over their photos by the brilliant John Benavente.

Eliesha’s take on ‘something blue’, although unconventional in itself, was pretty much the only nod these two made to tradition. Before saying ‘I do’ in Glenbernie Orchard’s rustic fruit shed, they stole away for a private ‘first look’ moment together, and were glad they did, “It was so sweet and then we got to have pre-wedding photos and rock up to the ceremony a little more relaxed.” They tell us.

Rather than focusing on what a wedding should be, Eliesha and Raj planned the day to be a reflection of them as couple and they urge others to do the same, “It definitely takes the pressure off, but more importantly it made the day very personal.” Eliesha says. Their ceremony setting couldn’t have been sweeter, with a ReedSmith Co. macramé backdrop as their altar and a chandelier of flowering foliage overhead. This social butterfly of a bride used her walk down the aisle to greet her guests and we say kudos to such a gracious host!

After the ceremony, the wedding party headed to the Bulli Heritage Hotel for a fairy-light and foliage festooned after party (shout out to Wild Flower Folk for the fabulous hanging foliage installation!) As the night wore on, Raj and Eliesha’s good friend DJ Adam Rogan of the Vintage Stylus got the party going, and guests even took home a bit of the action – this thoughtful couple had the DJ make a mix-tape CD of their favourite songs for the wedding favours. We think they might be on to something – the 90’s may be over, but the mix-tape will never die!
