One exuberant couple and a styling brief that detailed nothing but ‘relaxed vibes’, we can vouch that Jose and Marc’s Canberra nuptials met the chilled agenda. Kelly Tunney had a ball photographing this Gundaroo wedding where smiles were certainly not hard to come by.

With a short engagement of just five months and a fiancé residing in Canada, the bridechilla took the lead on the wedding planning. The couple exchanged their vows at the quaint St Joseph’s Church and after the officials, moseyed down with their guests to the nearby reception venue Grazing – which happened to be Josephine and Marc’s all-time favourite restaurant.

Already full of character, the venue needed little styling to fit the brief. Alongside the bucolic, vintage touches here and there, the couple’s cheeky personalities were evident throughout. With seductive vibrant florals, a convivial paper flower wall and of course, we have to mention – those oh-so outrageous, sumptuous red stilettos.

Flying in from Barcelona, Josephine’s makeup artist Auntie Alexandra, created her compelling red lip and smoky eye look. Jane and Dijana from Sparrow Makeup worked their magic on the bridesmaids, whilst Stephanie from Axis Hair styled all of their locks.

“I wish I could have worn my flower crown again and again!” says Josephine. Fiona from Peony N' Pearl certainly hit the nail on the head; creating vivacious red flower crowns and bouquets that just oozed personality.

Going against the grain, Josephine purchased her lacy, A-line gown by Bronx & Banco from Bridesmaid’s Only in Double Bay. The high-low hem was ideal for showing off her statement accessory, the knockout red stilettos by Aquazzura.

Jose's bridesmaids stood out amongst the crowd in their floral frocks from Review, which perfectly complemented the vibrant blooms by Peony N' Pearl.
