Fancy some fromage? This gorgeous Grounds of Alexandria wedding put out quite the epic cheese table, made all the lovelier (and earning centrepiece status) with stunning Florals by Silva. Len of I Love Wednesdays photography brought us all the action from this day of stripes and spots.

“My favourite patterns,” says bride Theresa – and she had a fabulous frock to show for it, care of Carla Zampatti. “My floral headpiece was specially crafted by Silva,” she tells me – having thrown a “very weedy and very green” brief her way. “It was quite hard to work out the size, dimension and fit,” she says. “I wanted a ‘big accessory’ rather than have a ‘traditional’ veil. It turned out exactly as I imagined.”

Pete’s proposal, however, had taken her completely by surprise. “We were on a trip to Maui and decided to get up at some very early hour to watch the sunrise from Haleakala Crater.” And as if seeing the most beautiful sunrise imaginable wasn’t enough… “He pulled me into a quiet crater corner and popped the question. Let’s just say, it was unexpected and very casual. Just the way we like it.”

And casual was very much the tone for their day. “We wanted to keep it fun,” they say. “Our guests were asked to dress ‘cocktail’ and to keep in mind that dancing was a must!” Their garden ceremony was followed by an informal feast of deliciousness, catered in full by The Grounds – a venue this pair can’t stop raving about. “We didn’t do much to the venue at all. This made our preparation for the wedding very easy. The only thing we really added was large gold inflatable letters spelling TEEPEE!” For Theresa and Pete – cute much? 

“Take at least a week off prior to the wedding,” they say in advice to other soon-to-be-weds. “We both worked right up to the wedding – it was hectic! We were so tired we almost missed our honeymoon flight by getting the days mixed up.” Enough said!
