Judging by Lara Hotz’s gorgeous photos, it seems Lindsay and Michael laughed all the way to the macramé-clad altar. Their relaxed Byron Bay wedding played out in and around the grounds of the rustic Harvest Café.
For a couple whose proposal involved Michael popping the question while hiking in the Canadian forest near Lindsay’s hometown, a wedding amongst the trees seemed only natural. The two said ‘I do’ in the lush gardens of Harvest Café, against a backdrop of hanging macramé and native flowers, courtesy of their good friend and designer, Nicole Bowller.
Lindsay and Michael’s special day was quite the international love fest, with the entire bridal party flying in for the wedding. Surrounded by bridesmaids, sporting an array of ocean hues, this free-spirited bride stayed true to her bohemian roots with a delicate Laure de Sagazan gown. A native flower crown completed the boho vibe and neutral flats meant she could dance the night away with her dapper husband, decked out in navy MJ Bale.
Wanting the day to be easy for everyone, the pair chose Harvest Café for the ceremony, reception and dinner. It was smiles all round, thanks in part to celebrant Nathan Crouch, whose antics had everyone grinning, “He was hilarious, easy to work with and kept things light and fun in the lead up and during the ceremony.”
The good times kept rolling into the reception, where guests shared a mouthwatering farm-to-table style meal, straight from Harvest’s onsite garden.
A little advice from these newlyweds is to “enjoy every moment. It should be a fun project to work on. Make it yours.” We think that’s pretty good advice for life in general, and if their wedding is anything to go by, this architect and PR pro are in for one helluva good time.
