When asked if their Byron Bay wedding had a particular theme, Kayla and Matt replied with ‘decorated by nature’. Seeing the dreamy forest setting that created the backdrop to their day, the couple’s choice for minimal styling makes perfect sense.
Kayla and Matt shared their vows in a heart-felt ceremony at Broken Head Picnic Reserve, followed by an intimate celebration at Byron’s Harvest Café. The couple discovered Harvest on Pinterest, and after further investigation on a weekend getaway, quickly decided it was the spot for them. The reception was held in the adjoining Old Bakery, a space exuding a tonne of historic charm and character. The food was a major highlight of the day, with a wholesome feast of local produce and a gluten and dairy-free cake to die for!
Kalya was lucky enough to find her dream dress on Gumtree – the gorgeous Indiana gown by Anna Campbell. Her colourful, unstructured bouquet was the work of The French Petal, a local florist who comes with Kayla’s most sincere tick of approval, having created beautiful florals within a tight budget and shifting brief.
Of all their wonderful vendors, Kayla and Matt were perhaps most delighted with their photographer, Luke Going. Kayla tells me Luke was incredibly personable and was much loved by their guests. Of their photos, she says “I don’t have enough words on how much we love them.” You can see more of Luke’s beautiful work here and here.
