This Hindu/Christian couple ensured that both cultures were accounted for when they tied the knot. All captured through the lens of Nina Claire, Nikita and Kieran held not one, but two epic weddings.
The celebrations kicked off well before the wedding day, with the couple holding a Sangeet, which is a traditional pre-wedding Indian dance, to which the popular couple attracted a crowd of 600 – holy moley! The ladies also celebrated with a henna night prior to the wedding, where they ate, drank and danced the night away as their traditional henna creations dried on their hands.
Held at the picturesque Hunters Hill Sailing Club, the Hindu ceremony and reception were bursting with colour and culture. Celebrations were well in action when the groom arrived to the ceremony, by boat no less! Kieran then danced his way to the sailing club with his friends and family, led by HiVibrant Hindu wedding at Hunters Hill Sailing Club Sydneyndu drummers.
Dressed in vibrant hues of red and gold, Nikita met her groom under the marigold adorned Mandap (a traditional Indian tent) in front of a crowd of 250. After the ceremony, the wedding party tucked into an authentic Gujarati lunch, cooked with love by their family and friends.
Stay tuned for Part 2 of Nikita and Kieran’s incredible cross-cultural wedding.
