Epic Portraits by James Frost

October 27, 2014
International photographer James Frost is something of a legend behind the lens, capturing this couples’ true character against mind-blowing, Middle-earth worthy backdrops. “To me photography is my art,” says the man himself. “It’s not just about capturing an image. It’s telling a story.”
And his own is quite idyllic. Hailing from the UK’s Cornwall, James spent his early years growing up in the south of Spain. “I was inspired by my Grandad, a well-known wedding photographer, from an early age… I grew a passion for the beauty of photography,” and has since spanned the globe, spinning stories into extraordinary imagery.
When it comes to couples, he really gets it – “the connection, the commitment and everything in between,” and has kindly shared these spectacular portraits from the nuptials of fellow Cornwall natives, Elle and Lucas, shot in and around Ossian’s Hall in Scotland’s Perthshire.
They too are wanderers of the world (in fact, Lucas popped the question at the top of a ferris wheel in Copenhagen) and wanted nothing more for their day than to be close to nature. “We believe in the simple things in life,” they tell me, “and the beauty that nature holds. This is something that we share together.” Unsurprisingly, they couldn’t be happier with James’s staggeringly beautiful work, which we could happily stare at all day.
