Talia & Adrian’s Modern Luxe Jewish Wedding

It’s a beautiful thing when contemporary meets traditional and Talia and Adrian’s countryside wedding was the perfect balance of both. Shot by the masterful John Benavente at the picturesque Bells at Killcare, the couple seamlessly incorporated customs from their Greek and Jewish heritage, whilst throwing a party of epic proportions.
Adrian’s proposal was a classic rose petals and romance moment during a night away in the Wolgan Valley and when it came to planning the wedding the pair had a similar aesthetic in mind. “We both wanted a wedding that was a big party and we had also both wanted a country/destination wedding.” Says Talia of their Central Coast location, and with such gorgeous natural surrounding an outdoor ceremony and marquee reception was the way to go.
In terms of traditions, this wedding was full to the brim. The pair swapped vows under the traditional Jewish chuppah, the wine was blessed and both their brother’s recited Greek and Jewish blessings. “We did the Stefana during the ceremony,” explains Talia, “involving the exchange of crowns (a Greek tradition), Adrian broke the glass whilst under the chuppah (A Jewish tradition) and a highlight for everyone was definitely the Jewish dancing at the start of the reception. Everyone had so much fun!”
Prior to the ceremony, Talia and Adrian parted ways for seven days, a Jewish custom, so seeing each other for the first time in a week made the bride’s walk down the aisle that little bit sweeter!
