Tash & Andy’s Kingscliff Wedding
Tash and Andy are proof that simplicity is sometimes best when it comes to pulling off a great wedding. The couple, along with their cheeky toddler, Elka, tied the knot at the Kingscliff Community Hall and celebrated with their guests at nearby Babalou.
Their day was styled around a loose theme of ‘colourful quirky’, and Tash, a graphic designer, wasn’t afraid to roll up her sleeves for a bit of DIY. In fact, together with some treasured friends, she made every last detail, from the invitations and signage, to the gold safari animals and mason jar lights that decorated the reception tablescapes. Close friends designed and organised all the flowers, including Tash’s colourful bouquet and Andy’s boutonnière, as well as the gorgeous bougainvillea runner for the ceremony backdrop. Tash’s Mum and nan pitched in with the cakes and impressive sweets table, while Andy took care of the blokey stuff, like chopping hardwood logs for light stands and signage.
Tash and Andy chose Babalou for their reception for the gorgeous view and beautiful food. The couple highly recommend the venue and tell me “Jodi, the Functions Coordinator, made everything so easy, especially as we were organising the wedding from Brisbane.”
Not interested in a traditional gown, Tash discovered her Carla Zampatti dress online and instantly knew it was the one for her. She wanted simple shoes to go with the intricate lace gown and designed a cute pair of glitter-heeled pumps via Shoes of Prey.
Tash recalls her favourite part of the day was their photo session at Fingal Head with Ashley of Stories by Ash. “Andrew and I had time together to reflect and chat about what we did in the morning before the ceremony. It was great to have a little ‘us’ time before partying with our friends and family.”
