Lucy & Ryan’s Laurens Hall Wedding
In our books any big day that ends with a dance-off is a success – especially if it involves the father of bride! Kat and Scout of It’s Beautiful Here were on hand to capture every detail and dance move of Lucy and Ryan’s Laurens Hall wedding.
When selecting a venue, architect Lucy and event manager Ryan were looking for a blank canvas that they could put their stamp on, and timber workshop Laurens Hall fit the bill perfectly with its exposed beams, steel framed windows and polished concrete floors. It also scored extra points for being in the couple’s North Melbourne neighbourhood.
Lucy says, “We were always wanting a very casual, relaxed day where our friends would have an opportunity to mingle with people they had not met. The theme, layout and venue were all part of creating a space that encouraged interaction and inclusion.”
A grazing table laden with homestyle food by Quince & Clove and the absence of a seating plan made for the relaxed vibe Lucy and Ryan were after. There were also plenty of sentimental touches – the first dance was replaced by a sing-along in memory of Ryan’s father, and a late-night toast with Spanish sherry wine was a nod to the couple’s engagement while holidaying in Spain.
