Nish & Patricia’s Vibrant Kangaroo Valley Wedding
Captured by Athena Grace, Nish and Patricia’s Melross Farm wedding unfolded in a vibrant mix of traditions and customs – a unique celebration of two families coming together from very different backgrounds.
The tale of this pair is as sweet as they come – together since they were just sixteen years of age, Nish proposed to Trish, now a teacher, in front of her Year 12 class. She recalls, “All of a sudden our song, Ave Maria by Beyonce, started playing and the girls I teach stood in front me carrying signs. At first I was completely confused, but once I read the sign that said ‘I met you in a classroom just like this’ I knew what was happening! The signs said beautiful things and at the end he walked in with a sign of his own, ‘will you marry me?’ and of course I said yes!”
The couple drew inspiration for their big day from the blending of their cultures, combining a quintessential Australian country wedding with traditional Indian elements of henna, Indian music and of course, a touch of Bollywood.
Stylists Hoorah Events worked with a palette of pink, orange and gold to create a festive vibe throughout the ceremony and reception spaces. Bright florals by Gypsy Carman matched the colourful fabrics, lanterns and paper fans and popped against the muted tones of the bush backdrop.
