Shelly & Phil’s Tuscan-inspired Wedding at Merribee
Captured by Mitch Pohl in his signature laidback style, Shelly and Phil’s wedding at the historic Merribee House was a little bit boho, a little bit Tuscan and a whole lot of gorgeous.
With some help from Bohemian Blooms on the floral front, Shelly and Phil created an intimate and relaxed celebration which blended perfectly with the country farmhouse feel of the venue. “We wanted our wedding to reflect us as people and it absolutely did!” they share. “We had a beautiful and calm environment with our most loved humans – there was nothing that could have been more perfect.”
After the ceremony, Shelly let her hair down (literally) and donned a fedora for a modern boho look which we just love. Her dress – the coveted ‘Inca’ gown by Grace Loves Lace – was modified with shortened diamond sleeves to make it her own.
Catered by Garnish Catering, the reception reflected the couple’s laidback style, with a rustic grazing table, cocktail style food, stacks of donuts and a towering single tier wedding cake with caramel drip.
Shelly and Phil’s advice to other couples? “Don’t lose sight or yourself in the planning, stay true to your vision and true to yourself. Let your day reflect you and your partners’ love. Don’t get caught up on other couples’ versions of perfect.”
