With it’s lofty warehouse vibes, Fremantle’s Stackwood was an easy first choice of venue for Lexi and Nick. The couple styled their wedding around their bold ceremony backdrop by Polka Creative, blending the dreamy peach tones with the pared-back minimalism of Stackwood’s industrial space. Throw in some styling help from Iconic Weddings Perth and Callum & Co behind the camera, and Lexi and Nick had themselves a modern affair that was perfectly ‘them’.

Lexi and Nick were keen to ensure the ceremony was not the boring part of their wedding day. In fact, the couple wanted the I do’s to ‘set a fun tone for the rest of the night’, and with the help of Married by Ariel, they certainly delivered! From encouraged heckling from the guests, to a surprise ‘who knows who better quiz’ for the bride and groom, and finally a shot of fireball to wrap it up, Ariel created a ceremony which the couple say was magic. Then, decked out that stunning Natalie Rolt slip and a super trendy blue blazer, Lexi and Nick read their ‘good mix of funny and soppy’ vows, before they headed into Stackwood’s warehouse for the reception.

Stackwood once again delivered with the lush indoor botanics, so the warehouse required minimal styling. As for the important stuff, Box Pizza Co supplied endless eats, The Freo Doctor took care of the tipple, and the couple’s friends put together a grazing table with classic ingredients, allowing their guests to eat and drink as much as they wanted when they wanted! Lexi and Nick chose to ditch the bridal party, cake and bridal toss and kept the speeches minimal. ‘You feel the pressure to do certain things, but if it’s not your thing, don’t include it – simple!’ Lexi explained.

Finally, we have to let you in on Lexi and Nick’s little golden nugget of advice. ‘Have a code word with your soon to be husband (ours was ‘banana’). Either one of you can say it at any point throughout the night, and when it’s said, you both step back and soak it all up. The night flies by!’. Banana! We love it!
