A faux engagement party at the family home was the perfect ploy to gather Brett and Alexandra’s nearest and dearest, before the pair revealed they’d be tying the knot that very day! With Brooke Adams on hand to capture the surprise, we reckon these sweethearts pulled off the perfect impromptu wedding.
The Brisbane couple met at a costume party and in a stroke of serendipity, both arrived dressed as librarians! In homage to their history, Brett donned the ol’ librarian attire the night he proposed at home and Alexandra tells us her first reaction was laughter until she realized Brett’s eyes had gone glassy pulled out the ring – “The moment was the most beautiful, hilarious, memorable and incredible moment of my life and most importantly, it was so incredibly ‘us’.”
Hosting the wedding at Alexandra’s childhood home was a sentimental choice, (“I couldn’t think of a more meaningful, special and beautiful place to marry my soul mate,” she says) that just so happened to complement their provincial/Hamptons-esque aesthetic. Midway through mingling in the front courtyard, guests were call downstairs, where they were met with rows of seating and a makeshift aisle. You can guess what happened next!
