The Barossa Valley has a whole lot to offer, and Leah and Henry wanted their guests to experience the region in full bloom. Their relaxed wedding showcased the amazing wine, local produce and the beauty of the place that Henry’s family have called home for generations. House of Lucie was behind the lens for this sweet affair, capturing the big day itself and the recovery brunch the next day.

The venue for their intimate ceremony was chosen for its sentimental connection. “We were married at Lillefield Gallery in Eden Valley, which was the old Uniting Church and the same space that Henry’s grandparents and parents were married in. It was such a beautiful little space with so much family history.” The couple’s nearest and dearest styled the church with lavender, golden wattle, olive branches and wreaths made from Shiraz vines straight from the family property.

Keeping things relaxed and skipping a few formalities, Leah and Henry opted for a cheese platter and family-made wines straight after the ceremony before moving on to the a party style reception for more delicious food and local wine. “We chose Harvest Kitchen as we loved the space. We wanted everyone travelling for our wedding to experience the real Barossa and this venue symbolised that for us.” Taking every opportunity to connect and spend time with their friends and family, an epic recovery brunch extended the celebration well into the next day. Guests tucked into breakfast wedding cake by Scullery Made, and hangover-curing grub by sustainable food truck, Forage Supply Co.

With her heart set something unique and laid back, Leah tried on only one other dress before she struck gold. “The Emile Dress by Thurley fitted so well, the lace was stunning and I loved the off the shoulder design. I actually bought the dress about two months after our engagement and had it sitting peacefully in my cupboard in the lead up to the wedding.”

Leah and Henry were married at Lillefield Gallery which used to be the old Uniting Church. The couple tells us "the volunteers who look after the gallery were so excited and helpful though the entire process, even planting flowers in the garden to match our chosen flower colour for the bridal party."

Leah and Henry only had words of praise for their photographer House of Lucie. “She was organised and creative, and made us feel completely comfortable jumping fences to roam through fields in the Barossa Valley. Her pictures honestly speak for themselves.”

The girls of Viva The Flower Store crafted bouquets of roses in rich reds, greenery and an epic Protea for the bride. “They worked off pictures and ideas I described and I was so blown away with what they came up with as it was more than I could have imagined.”

Leah gave her bridesmaids free rein to choose an dress style in black, for a modern bridal party look. “My bridesmaids are gorgeously individual and we really wanted this to be reflected in the wedding, so the girls each picked a dress they loved and felt most fabulous in from ASOS and Finders Keepers.”
