Lilly & Steven’s Colourful Cocktail Wedding in Fremantle
A not-so-romantic meeting, Lilly and Steven’s relationship kicked off after Lilly had one too many drinks at a mutual friend’s party and found herself flung over a toilet bowl. Luckily, gentleman Steven came to the rescue, offering his hair-holding services (someone’s got to do it)! 10 years later, Lilly once again found herself one with the toilet bowl, this time after a celebratory post-engagement feast in Italy. Luckily, their church ceremony and moody cocktail reception at Guildhall had romance in spades, while still relaying their crazy, fun and not-short-on-laughs relationship. Described by the bride as ‘colourful, vibrant, fun, classy and crazy’, think loud florals (Natural Art Flowers) a wild 16 member bridal party line-up, and a hilarious music slip-up! Props to photographer Keeper Creative for taming the herd!
Flowers
Showstopper of the day, Natural Art Flowers livened everything up with her colourful displays. Ticking all the boxes, peachy/red tones gave off a romantic feel, wispy greens kept some modernity, while loud pops of baby blue brought a bit of fun. Lilly was just as obsessed as we are. “Natural Art Flowers can’t stop, won’t stop blowing my mind with her insane floral displays,” says Lilly. “Completely encapsulated my vision.”
The ceremony
The couple said ‘I do’ in the Holy Rosary Parish, a Catholic church in Nedlands, although there were a few hiccups along the way. “My 20-year-old brother was in charge of music,” explains Lilly. “He had his phone hooked up to the AUX cable and at one point a telemarketer from Lithuania called – this made the traditional Catholic ceremony just that bit less of a yawn!”
Bridal party
Keeping things classic, Lilly wore a lace Riki Dalal gown with a sweetheart bodice, an op shop veil, Christian Louboutin heels and Annie Lu earrings. Her bridesmaids wore an eclectic mix of white dresses and Steven was styled by Khirzard, wearing a Tagliatore double breasted suit.

Hannah of Keeper Creative comes highly recommended by Lilly and Steven, who tell us “She brought a whole vibe to the wedding and ran the show. We had eight bridesmaids and eight groomsmen, it was a wild affair. She also got some proposals herself on the day because she’s just so damn loveable.”
The reception
With Lilly and Steven both being busy healthcare professionals, they say Guildhall Event Manager Amelia Walsh’s attention to detail was their saving grace. “Guildhall was magnificent,” shares Lilly. “There was not one fault. The grazing table, canapes, vino and cocktail style set up was impeccable. The staff especially the wedding coordinator Amelia Walsh were reminiscent of American wait staff – exemplary service, dedication and love a good time. The venue itself is a ball of glamour and hardly needed the candles, colourful home-made balloon garland and the loud florals to bring it more to life.”
