Jana and James wanted their wedding to reflect what they love most in life – simplicity, elegance, warmth and fun. After stumbling across Gordon St Garage, a warehouse venue that had just begun to host weddings, their vision started to come to life. They brought a little opulence to the industrial space to create their modern wedding day, photographed by Adam Levi Browne.

The mezzanine at Gordon St hosted Jana and James’ ceremony. Surrounded by candles set up by the couple’s friends and family, and ivory florals by Bohemian Flower Collective, celebrant Anna Balston was the perfect ‘calming influence’ to lead Jana and James’ intimate I do’s. Then it was downstairs to the luxe reception where JV Event Hire set the cosy winter wedding mood with contemporary lighting and an abundance of glowing candles. A stunning three course meal didn’t stop the party dancing well into the night, thanks to DJ Yon Jovi’s epic tunes.

Animal lovers and parents to Mia the Golden Retriever, Jana and James were a tad sad that their fur baby couldn’t join in on their big day. Enter Adam, their photographer, who managed to borrow a Labrador puppy he stumbled across on their portrait shoot! It goes without saying that the pics are adorable – hopefully Mia wasn’t jealous!

Jana tells us another special moment from the day was the first dance. The couple weren’t originally going to have a choreographed dance, but four weeks out from the wedding they decided to learn one from Youtube. “Through all the last minute wedding planning, dancing together was a great way to connect and laugh during what can be a stressful few weeks.”
