When Nicholas and Annie chose an Autumn’s day to tie the knot, they knew exactly what that would entail. After nabbing their dream photographer, Peggy Saas, to create some moody snaps, the couple chose North Fremantle’s captivating architecture to be the backdrop to their utmost sophisticated and romantic affair.

While Nicholas and Annie’s wedding maintained some traditional details, they chose to enter Guildhall’s courtyard arm in arm to Henry Clarke’s acoustic vibes. From there, they arrived before 84 guests and the courtyard’s blanched wall where Floral Army had worked their magic, to begin a ceremony officiated by their best friend. Then, it was drinks and canapés before a short walk to Propeller next door to feast on middle eastern dishes and international wines!

But our favourite part of Nicholas and Annie’s wedding was the small touches from their family and friends which came together to create their special day. Annie worked closely with her friend Jasmine from Jean Nash Designs to design her wedding dress, and Annie’s talented sister Sara Winfield constructed all things paper and ink. Annie’s skilled cousin Alex Newman nailed the videography and Nic’s dad even chipped in to make the table numbers. Lastly, Annie and her bridesmaids took advantage of the couple’s bee-hive to fill honey jars for favours.

While the couple took advantage of their talented family, they expressed their love for art deco and modernistic vibes through their sophisticated and personal wedding. Their last piece of advice is to not get too caught up on copying others, and they definitely nailed that!

The couple’s good friend Jasmine of Jean Nash Designs made Annie’s gorgeous floral appliqué gown. Annie shares “going through the design and construction process was so special – and all the more fun! Each individual flower is perfectly placed and hand-sewn. An absolute masterpiece.”

Choosing Peggy Saas as their wedding photographer was a no-brainer for Annie and Nicholas. “We knew we wanted Peggy to photograph our wedding even before we were engaged. We loved her photo-journalistic style and her ability to make us feel so relaxed on the day. We couldn’t be happier with the photos!"

We’re in love with this wild backdrop by Floral Army! Annie tells us that the florist, “created our exact vision at the exact budget, provided the perfect advice and was happy to change design last minute.” Adding “We loved the flowers so much, our only regret was leaving for our honeymoon so quickly that we didn’t have the chance to enjoy them at home!”

Annie’s bridesmaids chose their own black dresses and the tribe were made wedding-ready by Cat Elizabeth Artistry. Annie shares “Cat’s team were brilliant – they gave us all our own ‘style’ complementing shapes, colours and tastes, and did so in a way that ensured a stunning, coordinated look.”

The wedding feast at Propeller earned the title of – ‘Best wedding food ever’ by the guests! Annie tells us “The middle eastern feast was INCREDIBLE. It’s nice that we can go back often and re-live the food from their every day menu.”
