Kate & Bradie’s Moody Margaret River Wedding at Hayshed Hill

After meeting at Parklife Festival in 2012, it was only appropriate Kate and Bradie’s wedding would be one big party! Their cocktail-style reception held at Rustico at Hayshed Hill Winery in Margaret River, embodied the pair’s carefree spirit, encouraging plenty of mingling and dancing. To make their special day even more uniquely ‘them’, the duo went for a moody romantic theme, while letting the industrial look of the venue bring modernity. Photographer (or ‘photo wizard’ as dubbed by Kate and Bradie), Adam Levi Browne, captured the special details.
Bridal Party
Kate looked stunning in a latte coloured gown with silver beading by Steph Audino Couture. “I tried lots of dresses on but couldn’t find ‘the one’ so I ended up getting it made,” shares Kate. “I wanted something a little different.” While Kate wasn’t keen on wearing white, Bradie took up the mantle, looking sharp in a white Politix jacket. Kate’s bridesmaids wore black one-strap Nookie dresses and carried Flowers by Elli Paige bouquets featuring pops of red, burgundy and dusty pink.
Ceremony
The star of the ceremony was an unforgettable gold sun arbour. “Our celebrant’s (Katie Sinclair) dad had actually made the arbour for her own wedding, she then sold it, but we managed to track it down,” explains Kate. “It was originally white but our amazing stylist, Kim (from The Wedding Concept), painted it gold to match with our theme.” Getting their loved ones involved was another important part of Kate and Bradie’s day. The couple’s little niece and nephews walked down the aisle, Bradie’s brother did a reading and both mums were witnesses. A friend of the couple Sophie Jane Music also sang during the ceremony. “Before we were even engaged, Bradie had already asked her to sing as I walked down the aisle, so this was super special,” gushes Kate.
Reception
For the reception, the couple felt cocktail style was more ‘them’ than a formal dinner, and wanted their guests to mingle and feel relaxed. “Rustico is well known for their amazing food and it did not disappoint,” says Kate. “We had a grazing table immediately after the ceremony followed by canapes and then more substantial food later in the night and our wedding cake as dessert. My only regret from the wedding is not eating more of the delicious food!”
Vendors
“Our photo wizard, Adam, was a legend. He made us feel at ease in front of the camera and his photography suited our day perfectly. Vanessa at Rustico was awesome to deal with – nothing was ever too much trouble and our stylist, wedding coordinator and angel, Kim, from The Wedding Concept was an absolute gem. She brought our vision to life and we could not thank her enough for the hours she put into planning and organising our day. If you are tossing up whether to book a wedding stylist or planner – do it! Kim was worth her weight in gold, we didn’t have to worry about a single thing which meant we could relax and enjoy our day and the planning was fun and stress free,” explains Kate.
