Mountain engagement shoot by Melbourne wedding photographer Jonathan OngDespite Lily hijacking their first date by inviting some friends along, Ben was given a do-over at the romance thing exactly three years on, when he pulled off the mother of all proposals!
With a trip to the US as his alibi, Ben managed to convince Lily that he was leaving on the Saturday, even conning her into helping pack his suitcase the night before his supposed departure. Meanwhile he had recruited his housemate’s girlfriend to drag Lily to The Estate Trentham the next day, under the guise of checking the place out for a party.
Lo-and-behold, Ben was on standby (with John Mayer playing in the background, bless him) and according to Lily, the proposal was pretty damn perfect! “You know how the rest goes – boy gets down on one knee, girl cries and says yes.”
The engagement shoot was spontaneous to say the least – Lily and Ben were road-tripping around Bright and Mt. Hotham with friends over Easter, among them, Jonathan Ong (photographer and wingman extraordinaire). They decided to make a pit stop along the way and with the rolling hills and setting sun as backdrop, some pretty sweet snaps were captured!
