Jacqui & Adam’s Japanese-inspired Wedding at Perth City Farm
Jacqui and Adam looked to their passions and cultures for inspiration when planning their wedding at the always charming Perth City Farm. With Anni Maria Photography behind the lens, this sweet and stylish affair was about celebrating their heritage and creating a beautiful backdrop to share with family and friends.
Adam is a software/game developer, so his proposal to Jacqui was suitably geeky. He programmed an animated story of their relationship into her digital watch, which was timed to occur while they were husky sledding in the Rocky Mountains. Showing their lives from their first date right up to his proposal as they were standing on a frozen lake.
It was important to the couple that their day reflect their cultures, as Jacqui is half Japanese and Adam has part Indian heritage. The venue was styled with origami, with the bride’s mother making over 2000 cranes! Guests were served sushi canapes by Jaws before tucking into an Indian feast from Copper Chimney. Jacqui wore her grandmother’s obi belt over her champagne tulle dress, which inspired the wedding’s colour palette.
An architect by trade, Jacqui used her design prowess to infuse the day with structural elements, including suspended hoops and their amazing circle arbour which was a centrepiece of both the ceremony and the reception. As the bride has an allergy to most flowers, stylist Michelle Mok brought the humble succulent and plenty of foliage front and centre in arrangements across the eclectic space.
For their first dance, Adam and Jacqui performed a choreographed hip-hop dance that they spent two months practicing with Justin ‘Jesta’ Hill of Alfa Studio.
