Married at Loyal Hope of the Valley in Brisbane, this loved up couple’s intimate hall wedding featured plenty of pink (Jenna’s fav colour) and lots of good vibes. Already equipped with an emerald green bar and eclectic styling, Jenna & Liam’s bright colour palette complimented Loyal Hope’s space perfectly. Photographer Wander and Follow shares all the fun snaps from this special day.

Coming in highly recommended by Jenna and Liam, Photographer Joel from Wander and Wander & Follow couldn’t be faulted their eyes. “He made us feel so comfortable, like he was a long-time friend constantly cracking jokes and making sure we were all having the best time,” shares the two. “His creative eye and vision for our photos was fantastic. We absolutely adore our photos and have had so many compliments on how well they turned out.”

Pre-Ceremony Photos

Diverting from a traditional wedding schedule, Jenna and Liam decided to take portraits and bridal party photos before their ceremony. Not only did this help calm their nerves, but the couple tells us it also allowed them to share more time together and with their bridal party. “There was also no time pressure to return to our guests, so we were able to relax and enjoy the photos instead of rushing through them,” shares Jenna.

Wedding Dress by Alena Leena

Wearing the Mimosa Gown by Alena Leena and a flower headpiece from Casa and Flores off Etsy, Jenna looked equal parts effortless and chic. “I wasn’t too sure on the style I was looking for,” remembers Jenna. “I wanted a dress that reflected my individual style and that I felt comfortable in. As soon as I tried the Mimosa Gown on, I knew it was perfect for me. The statement sleeves, bodice fit and the dotted jacquard material ticked all my boxes, and it had pockets!” Jenna also made sure to tell us about the incredible experience she had with her hair and makeup team. After Jenna’s original hairdresser had to cancel only a few months before from the wedding, luckily Elizabeth Crossley could save the day. “She spent so much time making sure my hair was exactly how I wanted it. She even waited until we were leaving for photos to ensure that my hair was perfect!” Similarly, Jenna says her experience with Makeup by Ru Blackwell was flawless. “My makeup stayed perfectly throughout the whole day and night, which was such a relief,” shares Jenna. “One of my bridesmaids was so blown away that she wanted Ru to be the makeup artist for her own wedding!”

Ceremony at Loyal Hope of the Valley

Wanting to be married in Brisbane where a lot of their family live, Loyal Hope was Jenna and Liam’s last stop. The space, a beautiful little refurbished hall, aligned perfectly with the couple’s personal style – funky, cosy and nothing but good vibes! Set in front of a curved blush backdrop from Petal Prop Co with bright St.Aisle roses at their feet, Jenna and Liam’s ceremony looked stunning while feeling personal and calming thanks to their celebrant Clarah.

Wedding Reception at Loyal Hope of the Valley

Following straight on from the ceremony, Jenna & Liam’s reception was cocktail style with canapes, live music and more funky décor. In a bid to support small businesses, it was important to Jenna to try sourcing décor and flowers herself where possible. “I wanted to support small business owners as much as possible so using Etsy and purchasing locally was the best way to do this,” shares Jenna. As for the remainder of décor, Jenna says hiring from The Petal Prop Co was super easy. “Brooke from the The Petal Prop Co was so responsive to emails, requests and changes which was fantastic,” says Jenna. Closing the night perfectly, Wine & Dine’m Catering canapes were a hit with guests and their band Little Light Duo even stayed back free of charge to play for the couple’s first dance. So sweet!
