Pink, pink and more pink! That was the brief behind Holly & Sean’s eccentric Melbourne wedding, or in the bride’s own words, ‘if a unicorn vomited pink’. Matching Holly’s more is more attitude, who better to bring on board than Bloom Boy & Bangin’ Hangings, style geniuses and pros of quirky! Photographer and ultimate sidekick Liz Barnes shares all the fun from this special day.

Pink Theme

With Holly’s personal life motto being more is more, it’s no surprise the theme of her wedding mirrored this too. “Pink is my favourite colour and Sean was happy to go along with my whacky, out-there design inspo,” shares Holly. Making their day rain pink, Bloom Boy florist Ross blew everyone away with his incredible work. “The ‘oohs’ and ‘ahhs’ when Ross dropped off the flowers to my Mum’s house on the wedding morning was all that needed to be said, he nailed the brief and more,” says Holly.

Luna Event Space Ceremony

Wanting their ceremony to be lowkey and unique, the couple says Luna was a no-brainer. “We were after a casual venue that was different to what most of our friends and family had seen and as soon as we saw Luna we fell for its charm, as well as the love Katie pours into the space. The couple also mention their sweet celebrant Kitty, who was a gem at helping ease any nerves leading up to the ceremony and kept things short and sharp, just as they wanted.

The couple were over the moon with their photos by Liz Barnes, who they say was an absolute dream to work with! “She made us feel comfortable, knew when to make us laugh, and picked out the most stunning spots for our photos,” says Holly. “If you want a photographer who’s more like a friend, Liz is your girl!”

The Bride’s Look

Going for elegant but still unique, Holly opted for a big princess dress she purchased second hand from Still White by designer Mori Lee. Complementing her look, Holly wore a pearl Olga Berg headband, matching pearl Isabella May earrings and had touches of pink in her makeup by Kelly Rose.

Luna Event Space Reception

The reception, also held at Luna, kicked off in the courtyard where guests enjoyed live music (San Joseph) before being ushered inside for dinner. The inside was flipped into a gorgeous dining space with the help of Stylist Bangin’ Hangings and Bloom Boy, along with a grazing style menu by Fourside Events. “Guests are still raving about the food, I have even heard people say it was the best wedding food they’ve ever had,” remembers Holly. For a more intimate and relaxed feel, the couple opted to sit amongst their guests, a trend we have been loving recently. “With the bridal party nestled in the middle of the long table it was so good to sit amongst our favourite people,” says Holly. Finally, thanks to Luna, the couple got to design their own cocktails for the evening, which they say was a perfect touch, along with a delicious array of desserts by Beatrix Cakes.
