Teresa & Mick’s travel-inspired wedding at Ripponlea Estate

“Oh, the places you’ll go!” Travel was the perfect theme for these globetrotters, and Dr Suess put it best. His words wove through Teresa and Mick’s gorgeously quaint Quat Quatta wedding at Ripponlea Estate, binding two travellers who saw getting married as another part of their journey together. Oft behind the camera himself, Mick was blown away by the work of Jason Vandermeer Photography, and enlisted him to capture every moment of their Big Day journey.

“If you find great vendors that suit your style, let them do as they please,” Teresa insists. “They’re the professionals!” Her cousin, stylist Cathy Sison of Creative Soul Design, got right on board with the theme – amassing a collection of charming old suitcases, vintage maps and postcards for the occasion. They also gave Foxglove Botanicals free reign on the florals, and put full faith in Lovely Day Films‘ eye for detail (don’t miss the super sweet vid at the end of this post!)

In a timeless Collette Dinnigan creation, Teresa looked ever so provincial-chic as she took to the aisle of their garden ceremony – put together by the crafty folk at Weddings of Distinction. A “fancy picnic” was to follow, then on to Quat Quatta house. “We found selecting a venue to be the most difficult choice,” the pair tell me, both devout foodies. Situated on the Ripponlea grounds, this stunning Victorian mansion delivered on cuisine and class. “We loved the beautiful, classic architecture, and the fact that it had multiple fireplaces and a stunning bridal suite.”

After taking a little trip to Italy for dinner (with each table named after an Italian city – a nod to the bride’s heritage), their 110 guests had fun in the photo booth, cigar bar and on that beautiful ballroom floor. “Creative Soul Design also created neat little signs for each table with our instagram hashtag,” say our newlyweds, who enjoyed many a cute candid pic as a result.
